To finish off our Spring Break feature, we’ll head to El Paso with PC ’11 member, Shannon Lochridge.

Over Spring Break, Shannon went on a 6 day long trip to climb at Hueco Tanks in El Paso, Texas-one of the best outdoor climbing areas in North America. While there, Shannon participated in a type of climbing called Bouldering, which includes shorter walls (usually max 25-30 feet) and no rope. However, they have crash pads to land on if they fall and people spotting, so it’s not as scary as it sounds! Each day Shannon and her climbing friends hiked up the mountain and climbed different routes. Shannon says of the trip, “It’s always so much fun to reconnect with my old team and have so much fun doing the sport we love, no matter how tired and sore we get!”
